About Tannins Brew…
Firstly, what are tannins?
Tannins are in a lot of things, from the foods you love to the drinks you crave every day. Tannins are clever compounds that can be used to create that dry and puckery feeling in your mouth as you sip your coffee, or to help stabilise that refreshing beer you’re looking forward to at the end of a long day. We work them in our favour to bring you a seriously good brew, whether it’s a cuppa or a schooner.
So, who is Tannins Brew?
We are a brewhouse & grill tucked away in north Brisbane creating seasonal and experimental brews, offering a selection of Queensland made spirits and serving up a bold cup of coffee alongside our tasty grill menu.
Owner and brewer Dave Johansen is a 20+ year hospitality veteran from Brisbane who has a strong love of all things beer and coffee and who proudly supports our local community.
Our drinks menu is built of products from Queensland based artisans from Brisbane locals - Cavaliers Coffee Roasters, Tour De Tea & Spencers Vodka, Witches Falls Winery in Tamborine Mountains and Wildflower Gin & Capricorn Rum on the Gold Coast with many more to be added to the list.
We feature up to 6 brews at a time, consisting of our two core beers and other specialty brews which change seasonally and can also include some interesting flavour combinations. We also love to feature other local breweries from Brisbane.
Our food menu is the perfect accompaniment to a few schooners or a glass of wine and features classic comfort food options freshly made over hot coals.
What about the venue?
Located in the industrial area of Brendale, our Brewhouse and Grill showcases a sleek modern industrial vibe with polished wooden-slab tables, greenery, neon signs and plenty of natural light.
Our customers can sit back and enjoy a beer fresh from one of our 6 taps and watch the brew process for the next creation happening in front of them.
